A new Headteacher at Oldfield Park Junior School. Just to remind you, a new head Ms Marilyn Coles is starting in January. She has already been around school quite a bit and we’re looking for a chance to welcome [...] Current building projects for ‘Ascension 100’. We are so nearly there, just the sound system to finish and the permanent projector mounting. We are sorry that one of the mics is dodgy – it was part of the old system and will be replaced very shortly! When it’s all done we’re going to have a ‘bit of [...] POSADA – is it coming to your house? Posada is Spanish for shelter, and last year we got hold of a wooden nativity set that can go round people’s houses. It comes with 2 story books telling the Nativity story, 1 for little children, 1 for juniors. But you don’t need to have children around for it [...] A Story of Hope Welcome to Christmas! What will you make of it this year? What do you feel about it? ….the same old thing, with more and more questions about why are we doing it all?…. or, at the other end of the spectrum, perhaps it really does end up increasing your hopes that things could [...] Open Christmas – Churches across Bath host a lunch on Christmas Day at Kingswood School for those who might not have others to be with over Christmas. We have retiring collections as services here on Dec 20th, but you can also contribute by volunteering (with preparation, serving, transport etc. in various days around the date), or [...] Nativity on the street….As many people have been finding over this last year, the message of Jesus Christ is not to be contained in the 4 walls of a church. Indeed Jesus himself carried out most of his work outside a building! So….we wanted to bring the Good News of Christmas to the streets, and have [...] A story of hope….. This is the headline on our lovely Christmas welcome and information cards to go round every house in our parish from today, and to give to friends, or anyone (so do help take them out!). A simple message – the message of Jesus Christ, born ‘for us’ – which is one of [...] Thank you….122 Shoeboxes went off to Eastern Europe. This seems fewer than last year, but this time the school sent in their own. Also, our TEAR Craft stall sold £161 worth of fair-trade goods.
