The mAc* Project to convert our Crypt into and Church and Community Youth Centre. This will be a great venue for young people. You’ll recall this is a plan to create a new Church & Community Youth Centre out of our Crypt – to include glass balustrading and graphics on the way in; sofas, film and sound systems inside. The PCC* agreed in March to proceed full steam ahead with this project with the aim of completing the works before Tom leaves in the Summer. We have now got several grant applications in and done some of our own fund raising events (next one Scottish Dancing June 12th). We already have almost £3,000 raised ourselfes, and the total project cost is estimated at £23,000. Pray that the right funders will be inspired to support this project and we can press ahead with commissioning builders in the near future. 2 grants totalling £4000 have now been agreed by the ‘Youth Evangelism Fund’ (a central fund of the Church of England), and the local Medlock Charitable Trust. But pray, as we need significant further support for this to happen.
