During Lent

An Ascension Lent Course – ‘The Return of the Prodigal Son’ – A Story of Homecoming

starting 8th March 7.30 pm for 5 Wednesday evenings in Lent. We haven’t had a shared course in a while, and everyone is invited to take this time aside. Here is a brief course description: ‘A chance encounter with Rembrandt’s painting, The Return of the Prodigal Son, catapulted the Belgian pastor Henri Nouwen into a long spiritual adventure. His deep personal meditations reflect on the meaning of this parable for our own lives. The course explores our reaction to the story through the younger son’s leaving and return, the father’s restoration of son-ship, the elder son’s resentment and the father s compassion.’

Lent booklets available

Pray for Bath – the Lent booklet inviting you to pray for an aspect of our city’s life each day. Copies are available for everyone – please make a donation of £1 if you wish
