What’s your workplace?
Where do you work? What’s your job? Questions we often ask when we meet somebody new. The answers will be as many and as varied as the people we ask. For some people their jobs will involve a long commute for others it may be a short walk, or home may be our workplace. We all work whether we go out to a specific job, look after our family, are retired and do voluntary work or are studying at school or college. We may wonder whether the work we do matters to others, to God. In Genesis 1 we read about God the Creator, he worked, he made the world and all that is in it, he was pleased with his creation and he ‘placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.’ Genesis 2.15
Jesus himself knew what it was to work, the people of his home town Nazareth knew him as a carpenter.* Over the next couple of weeks we will be looking at ‘Life in the Workplace.’
